Spreadsheets
A spreadsheet is a program for a processing number and calculations. Spreadsheets developed as computerized simulations of paper accounting worksheets. A cell in a spreadsheet may contain:
- Label-heading or a title
- Value-a number
- Formula-used for performing calculations
Disadvantages of spreadsheets:
- One must learn how to use this program
- It's not portable
Advantages of spreadsheets:
- Use formulas to make calculations an easy task
- Changing a number on which a calculation was made, will automatically adjust the result
Functions in Spreadsheets:
- SUM; To add up the values in a group of cells
- MIN; To find the smallest value inn a group of cells
- MAX; To find the largest value in a group of cells
- AVERAGE; To calculate the average value of a group of cells
- COUNT; Counts the number of cells that contain a number
- One must learn how to use this program
